This map shows Italy during and just after WWI. During WWI, parts of northern Italy were occupied by Austria. After WWI, Trentino and Venezia Giulia were occupied by, and later awarded to, Italy. Italy had also occupied Dalmatia, but although Dalmatia had been awarded to Italy in London in 1915, it was eventually to become part of Yugoslavia with the exception of two exclaves – the island of Lagosta and the port of Zara
